The Team
Founded by two mates with more passion than sense and just enough talent to make it dangerous. Frankie came later. He is a dog. He has no qualifications.

01
Co-Founder & Director
Audio Engineer & Sound Designer
After completing a Diploma in Entertainment Technology from Toi Whakaari in 2011, Matt spent his early career as a freelance audio contractor across theatre, live events, and creative production. By 2015, live audio had become his focus — a path that took him on tour across New Zealand and internationally. At Evoke, he brings that same ear for detail and feel for a room to post-production work spanning film, television, advertising, podcasts, theatre, and immersive experiences. For clients, that means a collaborator who knows how to read a brief, adapt on the fly, and deliver audio that serves the story.

02
Co-Founder & Director
Composer, Audio Engineer & Sound Designer
With over a decade across music production, composition, sound design, and audio post, Ricky brings rare breadth to every project. As a trained drummer and live performer, he understands rhythm and dynamics viscerally, a quality that shapes everything from film scores to podcast work. Trained at the New Zealand School of Music and Berklee College of Music, he has built real-world experience across film, music, advertising, and immersive experiences. At Evoke Audio, that means approaching every project as a collaborator first, understanding the story being told, and making sound the reason it lands.

CANIS FAMILIARIS MAL-SHIUS
(7kg of Uncut Audacity in a Fluffy Little Vessel)
Frankie has maintained a flawless client satisfaction record since he was a lil pup - his two primary concerns being whatever is moving past the front door, and whether or not he is currently sitting in your lap. Spoiler: he will be. No complaints have been filed to date (we think). Cuddles available at all times, consent optional. Made the photo big so you wouldn't notice everything else is small.
Evoke Audio honours He Whakaputanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi as the foundation of Aotearoa New Zealand. As a studio rooted in West Auckland, we recognise the history and whakapapa of this place, and are committed to honouring that in the mahi that we do and the relationships we build.
